Datamax H-Class Labels Datamax barcode labels come in direct thermal and thermal transfer.  Direct thermal barcode labels do not require the use of a ribbon.  Thermal transfer barcode labels require a ribbon for use.  Please refer here if you would like to learn more about the difference between direct thermal and thermal transfer  barcode labels. The Datamax H-4212X and H-4310X, are able to print direct thermal and thermal transfer barcode labels.  The H-Class printers maximum outer diameter core size is 8 inches and the maximum inner core size is 3 inches.  The media width for the H-Class ranges from 1 inch to 4.65 inches.  The maximum print width ranges from 4.09 inches to 4.16 inches, depending on the specific model.  To see the differences between the printers, please refer to the chart below.
